Goat in the Road is excited to be performing My Best Friend Is An Alien at the Contemporary Arts Center (900 Camp St.) as part of the annual Art for Art's Sake I DOWNTOWN 2017.

Art for Art's Sake celebrates a day of art with family-friendly community art experiences at the CAC, followed by the First Saturday Gallery Openings on Julia Street and throughout the Arts District of New Orleans and the Arts Market Downtown, presented by the Downtown Development District.

Goat in the Road is excited to be sharing the stage with Dancing Grounds and Roots of Music.

Other arts experiences include:

• Hands-on printmaking demonstration by Community Print Shop
• Family-friendly art-making workshops led by teaching artists
• Reading of a selection of Maria Kalman's childrens books by Miss Pussycat at The Stacks Bookstore
• Last chance to experience Pippin Frisbie-Calder’s Canceled Edition, a site-specific installation featuring 1,028 hand-carved, woodcut, hand-painted prints of Ivory Billed Woodpeckers. Viewers are encouraged to participate in the installation by removing a bird from the wall and taking it home.
